Welcome to Houseloop. By creating an account or using the Houseloop application or website (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Houseloop (“Houseloop,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a household task and responsibility-sharing service. Please read these Terms carefully.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an Houseloop account. By using the Service you represent that you meet that requirement. Houseloop is designed to help adults coordinate household responsibilities; we do not knowingly create accounts for minors.
Adults may, of course, add tasks that reference children in the household (e.g., “Pack Emma’s lunch”). That information is content you control and manage; see our Privacy Notice for how we handle it.
2. The Service
Houseloop lets you capture household tasks, assign them to family members or other caregivers, send shareable links (no app install required for recipients), and confirm when work is done. The Service includes optional features such as voice to text task capture, AI suggested routines, recipient text messages, photo proof of completion, push notifications, and a personal calendar feed.
Features and pricing may change over time. We will make reasonable efforts to give you advance notice of material changes.
3. Account, Sign In, and Security
You can sign in to Houseloop with Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or an email one time code we deliver to your inbox. You are responsible for keeping your sign in credentials (and the device you signed in on) secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access by emailing hello@houseloop.app.
4. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Billing
Houseloop is a paid service. New subscribers receive a 7 day free trial. After the trial, your subscription auto renews at the rate you selected:
- Monthly: $4.99 per month, billed monthly.
- Annual: $59.99 per year, billed annually.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play), depending on where you signed up. Your payment method, billing cycle, and renewal are managed by Apple or Google, not by us.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time. To stop auto renewal:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Houseloop → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play app → menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Houseloop → Cancel.
If you cancel during your free trial you will not be charged. If you cancel after a paid renewal, your access continues through the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued by us. Apple and Google have their own refund policies you may consult directly.
One subscription, whole household
A single Houseloop Plus subscription covers everyone you invite to your household. Family members do not need their own paid subscriptions to participate.
5. Your Content
Houseloop is built around content you create: task titles, notes, photos, voice recordings, family member names, and similar “User Content.” You retain all rights to your User Content.
To operate the Service, you grant Houseloop a limited, worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty free license to host, store, transmit, transcribe, and display your User Content to you and the household members you choose to share it with. This license exists solely to provide the Service and ends when you delete the content or your account.
You agree not to upload User Content that:
- Violates the privacy or rights of another person;
- Is unlawful, harassing, threatening, or hateful;
- Contains malware or attempts to compromise the Service;
- Infringes intellectual property you do not own.
We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Recipient Links
Houseloop generates signed links that let people you choose (a partner, teen, grandparent, babysitter) accept and complete tasks without installing the app. By sharing a link, you are responsible for sending it only to people you trust with the information in the task. Anyone with a valid link can view, accept, and mark the linked task done.
7. AI Features
Voice transcription and routine suggestions are powered by third party AI providers. Output from these models may be inaccurate or incomplete. Houseloop is not responsible for decisions you make based on AI output; always verify before acting on it.
8. SMS Messaging
If you choose to send a task by SMS (a Plus tier feature), Houseloop will deliver the message through a third party SMS provider on your behalf. Standard message and data rates from the recipient’s carrier may apply. By providing a phone number for a recipient, you confirm you have permission to message that person.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Houseloop does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, free of errors, or that AI generated content will be accurate. Houseloop is a coordination tool, not a medical, legal, financial, or safety service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Houseloop will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or missed responsibilities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.
11. Termination
You may stop using Houseloop at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you (for example, by email or in app notice) and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
